In some countries or regions the maximum altitude of RC aircraft is limited.
This unit works on ALL RC systems - PWM or SBUS based. And if using on SBUS2 systems with telemetry, the altitude and Vario is presented as a telemetry sensor!
As an aid to stay below a given ceiling - or as an assurance to other nearby operations, this device will actively limit the operating altitude of any aircraft by gradually capping the motor throttle until reaching a user-set flight idle as long as the aircraft is above the set altitude ceiling. Once the model is below the ceiling, the throttle cap is gradually removed.
The rate of throttle capping happens gradually and relatively slow, so that in case the stick is left in full throttle, an IC engine will not experience any rapid throttle movements. This maintains flyability and avoids engine issues.
Note! The unit is available also with a sealed pressure sensor, with a hose connection to static pressure. This is intented for airframes that build up pressure or vacuum inside the fuselage, which offsets the barometric altimeter accuracy.
