GPS UART Converter

This small unit receives the UART NMEA string from any standard GPS receiver module, and creates an SBUS2 GPS telemetry device. It's a GPS module - but without the GPS! :)

Any GPS module can be used. Simply connect GND, 5V and NMEA signal to the PCB, and it will auto-detect the baud rate of your module. This is a perfect solution for the GPS receiver module you may already have in your drawer..

To get a fully working SBUS2 GPS sensor, you just need this module and any serial GPS receiver. Besides ground speed and GPS altitude, you will have the last-known coordinates of your model in case it's forced to ditch. Simply use a GPS map to locate a lost model. (Important in lost-model situation: Do NOT turn off the transmitter, or the coordinates will be lost)

The example shown here is a cost effective NZ GPS module from Ebay together with the GPS Converter.

Emulated sensor: SBS-01G
Slots: 8, 16, 24 supported.
Baud rate: 9600.. 115200 bps
Nav rate: Up to 5 solutions per second
